Hi Kent! I've downloaded the project example, start to build my own armature following the instructions from the previous video, only that instead of mirroring bones I used "symmetrize" option to create right part of armature. But in this video when I come to rotate my LEFT bones in Pose mode, I see that my right part of mesh is mirroring the movement of left side, and when I move/rotate my RIGHT bones - mesh does not react to these changes. Any ideas on where could I go wrong, or where to start looking to resolve this issue?

Ok, I think it has to do with mirror modifier not yet being applied to mesh... After I applied that modifier, each bone transforms the mesh correctly when moving/rotating... So I guess that just before creating armature for my mesh I should be all done with mesh with all modifiers applied?

Hi Artem - You don't have to apply your modifiers before adding the armature modifier, especially not in regards to the mirror modifier. Instead you just need to re-order the modifiers' positions. So if you're using a mirror modifier, make sure your Armature modifier comes after the mirror. Then your mirrored side will get all the weights for free.

Hi Arten!! I was with the same problem. The issue is the name of the bones. When you genareted automatic names for the right side of the armature then became somethhing like this "Leg.001.L.001.R". This is the real cause of the issue, Blender haved some problems to identify this object data. I renamed all of the right side bones and applyed the armature modifier. This resolved the issue completly. I hope I was to helped you! Sorry for the bad English, I'm still learning. Bye!
