    If you had a few characters with the same basic movements but different animations. So a smaller character and a large monster character would have walking movements, but their animations would be vastly different. Another is something like a first person shooter. Most of your guns will have an idle, shoot, and reload state but depending on the weapon it'll be a different animation.
