Every video I've seen so far where someone is using the "grow section" tool (like when you were trying to paint the inside of the mouth (3:01-3:05) the instructor says "Control-plus." This NEVER works! I'm using a Mac and vs. 2.76. Why?

Hmm, I'm not sure since I'm on a Mac mostly and "CTRL" plus "+" works fine. Are you sure you're hitting CTRL and not COMMAND?
  • David Frazier(pointoflife14) replied
Hey Kent. Yeah, I'm sure I'm hitting "control" not command. The "plus" (+) key is the same key as the "=" key and the "+" is only accessible only by "shift" when typing. Without the "shift" key it's only "control-equals." This is where I am quite confused, and no one has been able to give me a solid answer in all the myriads of times I've asked this question both on FB and Youtube. Every reply is always "Are you sure you're pressing the right keys?" This is not a little frustrating to be honest.

Any chance you're using one of the other hotkey maps (3ds Max or Maya) instead of the Blender default?
  • David Frazier(pointoflife14) replied
I just went and custom set my own hotkey for it. ;) You're still the best Kent!

Did you use the numpad's + and - keys? If you don't have a numpad, then assigning your own hotkey is the way to go for sure.
