Great start to the tutorial. I am not sure what is interfering with the grease cut operation, It is often creating a cut on the inside of the object and then failing to select one side or the other and just sticking to the cut itself. It randomly works, then it stops working again. I have attempted ortho mode, perspective mode, sticking the pencil to the object vs. scene, purging all previous pen marks, deleting the object and starting over. I have no clue what is triggering it to select the cut itself instead of the separated side..

I have spent about 30 minutes trying to create the process over and over again. I found something that may work, but it's not perfect. Seems to work in ortho or perspective. Place in an object, rotate the object, then draw in the grease pen, then grease cut. following those exact steps seem to make the GP_layer result in an actual separation as opposed to just selecting/creating a line through the object..

Ok, well, after trying to get the process to later stages and continue it with mirroring and what not, it's just not happening. Suppose the smart thing to do is just go D-topo and create flat surfaces :(
