Maybe you do the Blender Basics first.  And then, ideally, Core: Mesh Modeling.

The name Press Start is not referring to this being your first project.

You can also just ask questions here, if you need help.

If it makes you feel any better, you're not the first one that finds learning Blender super hard. Because as all things are, the low hanging fruits are all picked over. Hard things are worth it exactly because they are hard. 

As Martin says, Press Start is not a super beginner friendly tutorial, you want to head over the Blender Basics first:
