Hi again everyone, *little update* I've been working my way through core courses and trying to improve my understanding of materials and modelling. Think I'm doing pretty good but not a master by any stretch.Β
I'm working on my bee again and I'm coming on a weird problem with deforming the wing. I'm using a lattice to control the wing deformation and that's causing the voronoi texture in my material to get messed up. Checked to see if its a problem with UV's after deformation which I don't think it is. Anyone had this problem before? Full Material setup at the bottom

Texture after deformation:
Try doing an actual render of the before and after, not just viewport screenshots. It may be just a glitch on the previz.
Also that Lattice modifier should be after you have subdivided the mesh? Not sure if it's better for calculations, but feels like the lattice should be smoother at deforming that way.Β
Came out the same way and when the modifier was applied

Hi Sam,
What seems to be the problem?
You are using UV Coordinates, so when the Latice Deforms the Mesh, the Texture gets distorted, because Vertices (Face Corners) move around but still get the same point in the Texture:

I probably misread your screenshots, because I don't see what's going wrong.
For what omar said, I did have it before a solidify modifier but even then putting it below that isn't changing it. I turned the wireframe overlay on to check and yeah you're right that it's the wireframe showing over the mesh which I don't understand the reason for.Β replying to martin, the veins are following the UV's as expected but the voronoi is being blown out by the underlying subdivved faces coming through from the mesh as Omar assumed. basically the square grid seen better here isn't meant to be there. I did notice It shows with the latice off in preview though and then in rendered it gets worked out but only when the modifier is off. Sorry If I'm not being too clear
I just realized I was an idiot and the part was in shade flat and not shade smooth damn itπ sorry guys
