Connecting Shader to Principled BDSF does nothing.

Like the title says, I'm running into a wall right off the bat.   When I connect the Image Texture box to the BSDF Base Color node, nothing changes, there is no color.  I've tried to make sure the Image Texture box has the same settings on the screen, Color_Grid_... etc.   I can make the colors and numbers show on the screen like the lesson by going to the Viewport Shading box and under Object Color switching it to Texture.  This shows the correct display like the lesson without even adding an Image Texture box to the BSDF node, but doesn't work so well in trying to follow the lesson.  Help!

P.S.   Maybe I'm missing it, but there doesn't seem to be any explanation how to use the included files, which files to include or really any help at all regarding the course materials.

    Hi Daniel,

    It sounds like you are in Solid Shading Mode. Switch to Material Preview, or Rendered Mode (like in the video):

    Can you give us a timestamp in the video? So we know what you are trying to recreate. Also post some screenshots, so we can see where the mistake can be.
