A request for direction - Air Filter Modeling

Question Modeling

I have to model pleated air filters. I'm just starting out with Blender and I'm wondering if anyone on here can suggest a tutorial or some place I can get some help.

This is one example, I need to model a version where the pleats are more evenly distributes.

Two more types. I need to build better, more realistic models.

I'm struck so any advice or direction would be much appreciated.

    Hi Jeffrey jeffreyrobert61 ,

    You have to?

You are just starting with Blender...do you have any modeling experience with other software, or are you completely new to 3D?

Just asking, because my answer will be different, depending on your 'situation'.

There are so many ways to do something like this, here is one:

It's something you probably should do procedurally and array, so you can have more control, just as Martin did. There isn't a tutorial where it only shows something like this specifically, but there are tutorials where in instances the teacher would quickly use a technique that might help you. But in general you'd have to know your way around Blender and it's tricks, and that's by watching lots of training. Maybe Kent does it in the piano lessons? I'm not sure, link up just in case:

    Maybe ancient pillars:

Definitely at some point in the industrial environment:

    Maybe modeling wheels and tires:

Thanks MMartin Bergwerf, I've been working in the 3D space since 2005. I started with Maya, 3DS Max and Cinema 4D. I need to learn Blender now. So I'm fumbling my way around. I have to do it for a project, kind of a proof of concept for my current job.

Also, Blender Basics (even though you already have a lot of 3D experience) and especially the CORE Fundamentals of Mesh Modeing.

That won't help you directly with the air filters, but those are, I would say, an absolute must.
