This tutorial is using blender 2.7 !!!! A lot has changed since then
Yes it has. No reason to retire the poor old tutorial, most of the times the knowledge in them is pure gold, so the fact that the UI looks different is just a mirage. There's a good short thread on the topic if you want to read it, linking up:

HI 33dquads,
Yep. It was recorded with the latest version at the time.
Some things have changed in the UI etc, but the animation workflow hasn't changed in more than 100 years.
Most students who get to this course have already taken the Fundamentals of Animation, and the Animation Bootcamp which will train them in the newer software.
Then they can zoom out and look at the information in this course (process and workflow) and still be able to achieve their educational goals.
When you're ready to start your animation journey I'll see you over in the fundamentals first ;)
I agree. Thank you Wayne for your effort.
In fact, I am not a very good animator and I wish to be - I know this course will get me near to this goal.
I am familiar with the animation tools in blender (Newer versions as well).
My subscription was driven by a desire to learn the professional practices behind short film and animation production. Key areas of focus include the principles of shot design and sequencing, techniques for effective scene transitions and narrative development, and the specific challenges of achieving visual continuity—maintaining consistent character and object animation across multiple shots, varying camera angles, and different locations within a single scene.
Do you recommend any course in cgcookie that focuses on the above?
Again, your effort is highly appreciated (You and the team).
Hi Ahmad,
There's 2 or 3 separate, yet related things you're trying to upskill there (which is great)
Animation, Project Management, and Short Film Production.
We can certainly help you in many of the components of that list, but sadly not all of it.
Animation:
If you are already familiar with the animation tools in Blender, and you want to learn how to animate better. Then I would suggest you tackle the animation bootcamp. This is all about learning to see, and move your character according to the principles of animation.
That course is hard, but post your work, I will give you feedback, and you will improve.
(It it essential that you understand that stuff before tackling the Body Mechanics and Work Flow course)
Cinematography:
Check out the Directing the Camera. This covers a lot of the cinematography and film making 101 (but it's mostly focused on the camera stuff - not story telling etc)
The Other Stuff:
A lot of the information you're wanting isn't exactly in a specific course, but there are tips and nuggets scattered in all the million different courses here - which makes it difficult for someone who wants specific answers to things.
But I would suggest posting specific targeted questions in the forum about the things you want to learn more about. That would be the best way to get advice about project structure and management questions - and it will also help others find the same information.
(posting those questions here mean it will be buried in a weird location)
