Hi, I've been working in Blender for years, but I've decided it's time to get the fundamentals under my belt. I plan to go through the whole CORE curriculum and will be posting my progress here.
Well, I can see this is not your first time using Blender, Joey.ย
These look great! Looking forward to seeing more!
I especially like the Viewport Gradient in the Snowman Image๐๐ป
Just wondering, and this is not important of course, but are you using Right Click Select by any chance๐?
Thanks for saying hey! I don't think I've been using Right Click Select. I moved the 3D cursor to the side because it was in the center of the viewport image. Are you talking about something else?
Here's the Soccer ball:
I watched it once and then tried to recreate it from memory. It went okay except I ended up with these ridges at the creased corners. Feel free to chime in if you know where things went awry.

Oh don't worry, you don't have to memorize those steps. Modeling is very trial and error, even more the super advanced modelers. You begin shaping the mesh the best way you think to approach it and before you know it, it was not the most optimal way and you have to start over. It can happen a couple of times before you settle on a good mesh configuration. So no need to memorize steps, the more you practice, the more you'll feel the best way to approach each situation you encounter.ย
Hi Joey,
I've seen the (probably) same issue a few days ago here: https://cgcookie.com/community/21360-werid-pitchingย
Don't know exactly what's wrong, from the images alone.
Still working through the Modeling course! Learning how to stack various bevel methods seems pretty important to modeling "tech" objects like hard drives or smartphones

Moving on to subdivision surface modeling! I took on the challenge of modeling one of my mugs. I think I got most of the way there; the handle especially gave me a lot of trouble.
