    at about 12:45 you show the use of the loop selection tool by holding ALT and clicking with the RMB. This somehow doesn't work for me - it just doesn't select anything. SHIFT+ALT+RMB works fine (and always did) - what am I doing wrong?

      Yes, that did it - the ALT+RMB was used by Linux. Thanks for the hint!
