Hi, I managed to parent all the rig together (hopefully), However the arms that supposed to rotate on the x axis in edit mode are not doing so.
Might be too late to the party here but you need to switch to local view. This caught me for a while too. This is because the clamps need a consistent local axis to rotate around so they work independently of their global axis rotation. What I didn't quite understand is why it had to be local x and couldn't just stay as local z
