slotted actions question

Question

Hi. I have a question about slotted actions for the animators who have messed around with them as I will one day in the far future.

There is this one youtube guy who released a pretty cool new minecraft animation pack of over 100 pre animated moves covering a wide range of stuff. My question is if you can use slotted actions to easily (or easier) switch the action data between different minecraft rigs or even roblox rigs vs the old school way of retargeting which can be tedious I hear. I would still need to practice and create my own animations as well but it would save hours of work. Stuff like this pack gets me excited for my kind of animation content as well as I bet it takes more work to retarget animation thats been made for a human model to a roblox or minecraft rig. Just some thoughts for now.

Hello Brandon. I think I read more like an affirmation than a question, so yeah, there's stuff that saves you time but you still need to practice a lot. Practice is great, until we get the I Know Kung Fu tech from The Matrix and upload the knowledge into our brains. Start saving up for Wayne's brain data, that's going to be a costly one.

Yea I plan to at least complete the bootcamp course and maybe learn about parkour moves after that, but I plan to tell a lot of stories and that would just get a jump start on things if it was to work out. Still endless variations of walks, runs, and the whole lot to explore for sure when it comes to animation.
