Adding materials makes loop glitch

When I added the material to the blocks, I noticed that the animation doesn’t loop properly. Flipping between frames 250 to 0 causes a flicker in shader and lighting. It’s not as bad with Raytracing turned off, but it’s still noticeable. I’ve spent hours trying to figure this. I’m even rebuilding it a second time because the trying to play the first vision plays at a snails pace today. I’ve tried this with Blender 4.2.2 on 2 Macs. Even in material preview mode without the emission or any bells & whistles, both are getting low fps. #1. iMac 27” 2020 running OS 14.6.1 3.8GHz 8-Core Intel i7, AMD Radeon Pro 5700, 64GB ram #2. MacBook Pro M1 2020 running OS 14.4.1, 16GB ram. Only getting 9fps at best with this one. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

    Hi jjecho ,

That sounds like you just need to Render it out; even on a high-end machine, the Viewport often doesn't Render fast enough, when using Materials, to get to 24 FPS.

You can do quick renders by using viewport rendering. This can be found under view menu. Once you render it out you can always access the last viewport image(F11) or animation/Keyframe only animation(Ctrl+F11) thru the render menu. Note: Once your temp folder is cleaned up you won't be able to view the last one. Also you can toggle overlays(Shift+alt+z) off to get a better visual of the viewport.Â
