importing and modifying from fusion

3D Printing

What do you people think of importing and modifying in blender from fusion? ive been learning fusion for the last year and although some things like dimensioning or modifications are easier in fusion theres a hell of a lot that is 1000x easier in blender. i was thinking of maybe importing my models and adding the more complex details in blender once i have my dimensions / main body right...

I've never used Fusion, but working from software to software is a valid workflow. If you find it viable then it's ok. Just be sure you're not doing it because you don't want to learn how to do it in Blender. Usually staying in the same software is less convoluted, so it's worth it to see how Blender does it and if it's worth the swapping of software all the time.

well at this point id definitely prefer to do it in blender . Im going to give it a try and see if its worth it and if anyone else ever needs the info it ll be here. Im thinking doing like a "block out" in fusion to get all the dimensions and once i have the form i want i can add the fancy details in blender

Well fusion makes a mess of the mesh if you try to convert it to work on it directly in fusion. Its best to have simple clean topology. I ended up using blender for the very end to add details i couldnt really add in fusion . its also possible to not convert the mesh and then convert ( they call it tessellate ) your fusion objects to a format that will merge with the mesh.  Also for some reason exporting from Blender to slicer shrinks the object  , some suggest to scale by 1000x but i needed precise measurements and they were still slightly off opening in fusion and exporting from there worked . Now my dog and i have matching sunglasses :D !
