the first part of this course is a bit of a let down just becasue it was a rather unengaging listing of tools rather than examples to follow. oh well, hopefully the next parts of the course are better
Hello Finn. Yeah, the courses are The Fundamentals because they are the first "boring, here's how it all works, first absorb all the information" type of knowledge. Later you'll get into more goal oriented driven class, where you click Blender because you have a cool model as an end result. If you're the give me action type of guy, just think of these lessons as your vegetables, proteins and healthy food, you gotta have them first to have a proper functioning body, the candy and indulgences come after.
I agree with Omar. The goal of this class is to achieve a fundamental understanding of the tools and processes. I like the structure of the course so far, and I appreciate the fact that we learn which tools are most useful and which ones aren't. Before joining CG Cookie, it felt overwhelming with so many options, tools, and menus. This has made it much easier to dive in and get started. Also, I really wish I would have known about "Front Faces Only" when I first tried to sculpt with Blender.
