Piano Noise

When I try to use a different hdr than the one in the course I get Tons of noise and speckles on the piano using the icosphere as the ‘room’. Has anyone else had this issue? I can post a screen shot in a little bit after my sequence renders if needed.

    Hi Jason,

During Rendering, sometimes, depending on the HDRI, but Denoising takes care of that.

That is normal, so HDRI causes fireflies, all the little speckles you see. I think it's because of clipping above one? And shinny surfaces. But as Martin says, Denoise is helpful. Since I don't like denoising for final renders, I usually just use a different HDRI.

Thank you! I will look for a similar HDr with the same coozy lighting.

The fireflies(speckles) can be reduced by changing light clamping. Usually the indirect light which defaults to 10. I will usually set it to 5. Note: this can and often does make the render darker. In very rare cases, you may need to set the direct. I usually start at 10 and go down from there. Default is 0 or no clamping. Many people start at 5 and go up or down from there.

I will try this first. This HDR https://polyhaven.com/a/warm_restaurant_night looks super phenomenal on those piano keys!!
