why does my edge not bevel the same way?

hello, does anyone know why this is? on the tutorial in the orange, you can see when he pulls up these 3 edges, the view of the most far right pulls up evenly.

but on mine in the blue, you can see it doesn't pull up completely, it pulls up like half of it incorrectly. like it has an inner triangle edge thign in there. i tried enable clipping that didnt change anything.

what do you think lol

You may have duplicate vertices in your mesh that are on top of one-another. When that happens you can get issues like this. Not sure if enabling mirror mode clipping after the fact cleans up the duplicate vertices along that mirror point but you can perform a manual cleanup to be sure.

In edit mode, select all vertices by hitting the hotkey 'A', then go to and select Mesh->Clean Up->Merge by Distance. This will remove duplicate vertices. Then look in the bottom-middle of your Blender window and it should tell you how many vertices it removed in the process. If it's more than zero, you had duplicates and it cleaned them up. After doing that try doing what you want to again. If that doesn't work maybe post another screenshot or two with vertices showing.

Yes, like Danny said, it is most likely a matter of so-called 'double Vertices'.

The Shortcut is M > Merge > By Distance (it's faster than going into the Menu and you'll be using it a lot , so it's worth learning the shortcut). And to be clear, you need to do that before pulling those Edges up.

thank you Martin and danny for the feedback. yes you are both right, there's literally like 5 different vertices here lol, no idea how that ended up happening. thank you for poitning that out!!
