Dynamic paint render issue

Hi, I don't understand why everything works in the viewport, but displace doesn't work in the render. I did the bake

    Hi Andrii broov3rD ,

That could be many things, but what I have seen now a few times, is that people are using a Subsurface Modifier with different Levels for Viewport and Render; that won't work. Set the Render Level to match the Viewport Level and Bake again.

If that's not it, could you provide more information, like screenshots, or even better (in complex situatuions like this), upload your .blend file (via Dropbox, Googledrive, or so) and post a link here.

It feels like I'm missing something really important yet simple. At first glance, everything seems done, but I always struggle with shaders.

    Hi Andrii broov3rD ,

First of all, thanks for the file!

I haven't been able to find what's wrong yet; I can Render just the Displacement:

    DP_Brush_00.png

but as soon as I also enable Surface.001 (the paint), it only Renders the paint as you show in your images.

If no-one else knows why this is, I will look at it again tomorrow, with a (hopefully) fresh brain; I am intrigued 🤔

Thank you. To be honest, this is my third day trying to understand it, but I still can’t. Today, I also managed to see only the displacement, just like you show in your screenshot. But I can’t get it to work in combination. I even thought about doing something simpler, but my inner self won’t let me give up on this. Frustration is already kicking in.

    Hi Andrii broov3rD ,

    The power of sleep!

Spent hours yesterday evening and didn't really get anywhere and then this morning, I got almost immediate results.

I Deleted the Cache folder (blendcache_Painting_brush_packed), just to be on the safe side, then:

First Bake 1 Cache (double-click on the blue Cache field to Name it):

    DP_Brush_01.png

    Then the other and Render:

    DP_Brush_02.png

Not sure if that is the way it is supposed to be done, but it seems to work.

My friend, thank you so much. You saved me. I'd say the power of the morning and the power of the community rules. It's worked!!!
