It could be a number of things. It depends what you’re doing in the animation. If I’m rotating 180 degrees along one second in length it’s going to be slower than if you’re trying to rotate 360 degrees along the same length. Same thing with FPS. Higher frames per second it’ll go quicker. In regards to the “six seconds” I believe you’re referring to the frames. The first number is in seconds, the second number is frames. At 1:00, that's a total of 60 frames which equals one second given you FPS settings.  If you hover over the animation timeline and scroll in or our you can expand/contract the timeline.
