Hi, I filled the n-gon for the upper half of the side. and now this one edge won't bevel.
Do you have any ideas why this could be?

Most likely, you have so-called 'double Vertices'.
M > Merge > By Distance.

the merge by distance did it. I tried merge at center, but this didn't do the trick. So, next time I'll just go through all the merge options :-)
