Chromebook Hardware Requirements

Question

Are their specific low price Chromebooks that are able to work with the Blender software requirements?

I ask because I notice some of the older chromebooks that have zero extras installed - literally no extra software, no extra files, just factory default chromebook are not allowing Blender to be installed because they run out of space.

    Hi monigarr ,

I don't think that Chromebooks (even the higher priced ones) are any good for Software like Blender. In my opinion, if at all possible, you should stay away from Laptops/Notebooks for Blender. Even if they fulfill the Requirements.

For the same price, you'd be better off buying a (maybe refurbished) Desktop.

If you're going to do Blender work on a laptop, it'll be light work, not heavy scenes and heavy rendering. You'll maybe do some light modeling and texturing. But it'll surely come a time when you'll think dangs renders are taking too long, scenes are crashing too often, I need more fire power, I'm getting a biffed up desktop. Happens to us all.

And it's not only that things take longer, but the lifespan of your Laptop will also be heavily reduced (because of the cooling problem with Laptops/Notebooks).
