the problem is when l select a land for the first time and calculate the TD for it if l select another land and do the same thing the value isn't change despite it give me a different value if l do the same process in UV sync selection ( the two arrows )
Hi Ahmed!
I am also a little confused about your question, however I understand that there is a discrepancy in calculating the Texel Density with Sync mode on or off.
Could you explain what you're looking to do and how this discrepancy is creating an obstacle for you?
I've tried replicating it on my end but I was unable to. Based on how the unwrap looks on the model, I would say your Texel Density looks fairly consistent!
yeah Chunck got it there is a discrepancy in calculating texel density .... so you can see when sync mode is off it was 10.705 and for the same island hen the sync mood was on the texel density was 1.140 why this happened ..... this is the point of asking ..... and really thank you both
Hi Ahmed,
This is not my area of expertise (and I don't know the Addon), but it looks like the Addon looks at the Selected Faces in the 3d Viewport; without Selection Sync, the Selected Faces cover more than 80% of the UV Space (everything) and with Sync only about 5% (the same as the Selection in the UV Editor).
Now, I don't see anything Selected in the 3D Viewport, so maybe you turned off the Overlays?
Interesting, looking again at your screenshots it looks like you may have a newer version of the addon. I'm not sure if that plays a role in this finding or not, but I took another attempt at trying to replicate what you've shown and I'm still unable to get a difference in the calculated TD with Sync mode on or off. 🤔
My recommendation would be to have Sync mode off when you want to do calculations, and manually select the islands you want to include in the calculations. That's how I have done it historically, and has worked for me. Perhaps there has been a update to how it works that I am unaware of?
