A Longshot Question

Question Modeling

Hi, I'm following a tutorial creating a drone. Somehow I've managed to duplicate something perhaps? Anyway, the section between the lines is supposed to be inset and the faces with X on shouldn't be there. Oh, and I am unable to select those faces. If a solution jumps out at you I'd love to know.Gunner Bot.png

Since you are in edit mode and the faces with the x on it are not part of the mesh you're editing in this shot, you should try to go to object mode and select whatever that is again. I also see a boolean_cutters collection there, which tells me you've used bool tools. I'm not sure what's been changed in that addon, but since 4.2 it creates that collection and cutter often stay visible, where they would just be bounds before. That might be a cause for this too. Try deactivating that collection and see what happens.
These things are where I would start to troubleshoot.

My thoughts exactly Sascha. Seems like my brain has been hacked.

When in doubt Dodge, select those parts of your mesh that are proving difficult and begin to hide faces with H, that way you get a clearer view of what might be going on. Also select a face and grab it with G and move it around a bit, that way you see if something is broken of misbehaving.

Sorry for taking so long to respond. I wrote a response to this a couple of days ago but obviously neglected to Add Answer. Turns out, I worked out after grabbing it, I had mirrored it in both the X and Y. There are several words that spring to mind, the most polite being Rookie 😀 Thanks guys.
