BSDF node setup doesn't appear

I'm a bit confused by Blender's way of texturing. I'm following a "create a desert environment" tut and when I import a rock from Quixel the rock is there but there's no node setup for me to turture the rock with. This didn't happen when I loaded the plants that I textured. Please tell me what am I missing? Is it a hierarchy thing?

    OK, I think I figured it out. Not sure that I have, but at least I was able to get the items textured for the scene. thanks

    It depends on what software was used to texture the model. Each software uses its own method and they aren't usually interchangeable. So Blender's node system wont work natively in 3Ds max and vise versa. If a material is set up in Blender, it will only load up in Blender again when you import it.
