I want to create random flashing Christmas lights but I am a newbie in shading. I already have modeled my little light bulbs in my scene. What would be the next steps?
Compositor? I see there is such item at the top of the window but I've never used that. Too advanced for me, I presume! Do these three nodes work together without any connection with the nodes in the Shading?
I want to thank you so much for your time and advices, even though I'm quite a beginner. I've started the CORE courses but I'm not very far: I've just finished the 3D Modeling with Jonathan Lampel (but not the final exercise...).
Now, I will want to have a camera going around the cat in order to produce a little video. First time with a camera! Wish me good luck!
Good luck!
There is a useful Addon, if you 'get lazy', or run out of time:
The Compositor is just another Editor:
You can also use the Compositing Workspace (at the top of the window), but you don't need that here.
If you take care of those 3 green rectangles in my last screenshot, you should be good.
The glow works! And thank you for the add-on suggestion: I'm not lazy, but newbie! (And a little out of time, I must admit.) Thanks again! I'm so happy with the lighting! 🤗
Finally, here's my Christmas (and New Year) animated card made mostly with Blender, with the wonderful help (and patience) of Martin Bergwerf (Spikeyxxx). The little story is about a cat who was so (too!) much in love with Christmas trees that the Ice Fairy (I'm not sure for the translation...) transformed him like them.... But was it really what the cat wanted??? 😉 https://www.marie-delagrave.com/noel
Great video and I've learned a few things just reading this post.
