Help with dice colour

posted to: Dice Material

Hi all,

Nearly finished the materials chapter, although I can't seem to figure out why my dices black looks a lot duller than in the example. Have tried fiddling with the various ramps to no avail..

Any help greatly appreciated!

    Hi Jack,

That's because your Roughness is too high (light Color of the Color Ramp is close to white):

Maybe apart from that it is also the lighting? Light has a huge impact on how the material looks, since all the colors and reflections changes the surface look. Try changing the HDRI or the lighting set up and see if that helps. For example for neutral lighting when it comes to the HDRI Blender comes with, it's better to use the studio one, all the others color tint your surface.
