What is the makeup and IQR of iphone glass?

Just like the title says, I may want to create an iphone or android and other mobile devices. But, what exactly are the screens? I'm not sure. Are they glass? Some plastic glass hybrid? How do I design that material so light emits through it properly?

You'll have to do some googling there. Research is part of the whole rendering thing.

Also maybe you wont like to hear it, but it's all mostly cheating in CGI. You cheat with glass, you cheat with materials and light paths, you cheat the rays. You just want it to look good, that's all.

Well, I want it to look realistic first, and partly that's lighting. After I make it realistic, then I can worry about making look super good.

    Hi Sid,

The top layer is toughened glass (the IOR is pretty irrelevant on a flat piece of glass, so close to the display, maybe just keep it at or around 1.5) and that is covered in grease from fingers, with dust stuck into it.

Practically, you'd just look at a phone and try to reproduce what you see.

Realism doesn't come from getting the numbers (like IOR) right.
