Light Orientation

How to do you rotate the lights but have it still pointed towards an object?

Do you have a time stamp on the video to see what you mean? What you're saying sounds impossible, if you rotate it, then you're going to point it away from the object.

If you put the 3D Cursor where the Object is, and set the Pivot Point to the 3D Cursor, you can do just  that.

When he uses the Tri-lighting extension, the lights are configured in such a way as to always point at the object. He's not rotating them; he's just moving them. The constraint on the light keeps it pointed at the monkey.

The addon uses a tracking constraint set on the light. If I remember correctly it sets the selected object as the target in the constraints. I prefer to set it to an empty so I can change where the lights point on the object.
