Thanks for mentioning it. In fact it's already set like that, may be I went too heavy on the sliders to soften it.
I'll push them back up a bit :)
I'm more interested in who you are trying to keep out the door? :D
Nice block-out so far. Love the fact that you include switches and outlets. They get forgotten so often.
Forgot to mention : ยซ Any similarities to actual person, living or dead, or actual events, is purely coincidental ยป :D
I moved a bit the camera, the gun is so small.
Added some basic materials and modelled the chair and the gun.
Modeled the lamp & table. Moved the camera again for a better result, I think.
Another bunch of stuff modeled. The sheets are under fabrication, I'm meditating on how to make some cool folds.
If you see something that feels wrong don't hesitate to give feedback. The exercise is "modeling a low poly room with 30-50 objects", though.
Couldn't resist not to play with cycle & lights. It adds so much drama :)
Dunno what is the noise on the left part, on the wall...
Advancing slowly, but I'm also following the CORE-Lighting series and using this project to experience things.
I modeled an ashtray -ย at my surprise was not as easy as I'd expected.
Also did the bed lamps. The window has a glass now.
I fought several hours with the lights and render engine. I still have these distortions on the image, if anyone knows how to get rid of these, I'd be grateful.
I switched to a more sensitive color palette.
I had to reduce the exposure for a more dramatic effect. Sorry for the spam :)
Oh, but there is ! Quite strong, even, on the bathroom wall in the shade. In fact I found the solution, it is noise and I had to pull the denoiser to 0.0 and triple the render time to get fully rid of it.
I decided to call my homework finished with this result :
And the lit render which took 10 minutes :
Yes that 'distortion' is because of Denoising with not enough Samples...it can become 'splotchy'.
It is always a balance: Render time, Samples, Denoising, EEVEE or Cycles and more.
You can test-Render a problem area with CTRL+B, to improve the result, without having to Render the whole image
Your last Render looks fantastic, the only thing 'bothering' me, is the sharp edge of the blanket, while the mattress has a rounded edge:
Thanks for the informations and feedback, Martin. I'll smooth this edge on the sheet, you're 100% right.
Yeah, that's what I discovered, and I guess I've only experienced one of the few "surprises" with the beast. Hopefully I got an old desktop that I could plug in again to serve as a rendering console.
