How do yall handle freelance contracts to other companies? Do yall have a business name or do you use your name as an individual, and what rights as a individual vs business name, like an LLC?
Anyone using a professional email, I was looking at Microsoft 365 business.
Do yall have you own (as a artist) webpage, facebook, Youtube, other media sites as an artist or business?
I guess it depends on where you are from. Here in my country you just do freelance with your name and that's it. I also just use my normal email, so there's nothing to it really. But I bet in the USA it is very different, so other people would have to say. But same for having a webpage, I don't know if people use it at all these days. Mostly potential clients would ask me where they can see my work and they always ask for my Instagram more than anything. I don't use social media but I had to get an Instagram because so many people were asking for it.
Im in Utah U.S.A
and with everything going on, just covering my assets...
In the USA it depends on the state, but most allow you to do a sole proprietor using your Social Security Number. There are a few counties and cities that require you to register a DBA(Doing Business As), but those are rare. Depending on the type of freelance work you do you may need to get a license or permit. For example in my County(Dallas, TX) if you do adult orient art then you have to get a permit. The thing is that each city defines adult orient differently. Dallas(The city) defines it as sexually orient material that you sell. For commissioned work you don't have to have a permit(Well as long as you don't have any real people involved). Where as Richardson defines it as anything containing nudity. Side Note: I'm not a lawyer and information is based on my experience from about 6 years ago. Things my have changed since then.
