Rotating all the AXIS at once with shortcut

Could anyone please explain the logic behind why, when I want to rotate all the axis to 5 degrees, I press R+5 and instead of every axis rotate to 5 degrees, the cube is being rotated randomly?

    Hi hhenrikas ,

What do you mean with Rotating all Axes 5° ?

R, 5 will Rotate the Cube 5° along the View Axis.

Rotating 5° on the X-, Y- and Z-Axis can't be done at once, so you will Rotate on each Axis one after the other, but that would give different results, depending on the order of the Axis; First Rotating on the X-Axis and then on the Y-Axis and finally on the Z-Axis, is different than first Rotating on the Y-Axis and then on the Z-Axis, and finally on the X-Axis.

Rotations in 3-dimensional space are really complicated!

I mean all of the axes to be rotated 5 degrees at once. Although it's possible to rotate all the axis exactly how I want it to when I rotate X Y Z separately.

It is complicated indeed! Your answer really made it more clear. Thank you!

"I mean all of the axes to be rotated 5 degrees at once."

That is mathematically (and physically) not possible. You can only Rotate on 1 Axis at a time.

What you can do, is Rotate around another Axis, for instance around the 'diagonal' axis:
