I am not able to use the knife tool on the front surface. When I hit escape the vertex disappears. I'm not sure if this is a Mac problem, but I did notice that other 4.2 users are having trouble with the knife as well.
Well I'm an idiot, I kept hitting escape instead of enter (return on Mac) effectively canceling the tool action.
