juli0rs Course Progress / Polybook

Polybooks

In this thread I just want to document my progress throughout the Fundamentals Courses. It will be nothing special as those are, well.. the fundamental courses.

But I'll try to actually produce some things that are not 100% exact copies of the tutorial so I actually learn something and not just learn following specific tutorials.

    My first Snowman:

It's basically just the model, but here I thought I'll try to animate it. I don't want to upload the 2s video on a platform, since it's not worth it. He just looks at the camera and waves (ok, not really. He just wiggles his stick-arm a bit)

And my crate with additional Handles and ridges on the Edges:

Love the shading in the box and the lighting in the snowman.

I will still finish the hard drive, but here's my coffee cup with saucer:

    Finished my hard drive.

Did a few more of the sockets, but did not go into much details. Overall I'm happy with it.

    Aaand the Cookie:

I added the sclera of the eye and the eyebrows. Overall I don't think the whole topology lesson really stuck because it's easy when he does it, but when I tried to do it on my own without the video reference I got stuck pretty quickly.

Now you can make a nice composition of the snowman, the box, the cup of tea, the hard drive and the cookie. I'd say there's a story in there somewhere where it can all fit together.

As the submission status is now passed and I want to have a more or less complete documentation of the stuff I do in the courses, here's my low poly room. After looking at it again I maybe should've fixed the trigons in the faces at the wall... I wanted to make it not completely even but that backfired a little bit

Thanks to Omar Domenech and Martin Bergwerf for help and suggestions during the process.

I also thought about the suggestion to create something else with the existing models above but for that inspiration didn't really struck. Thanks for the encouragement anyway Omar :)
