I gotta say, all the work on the jacket, especially the "just rorate and pull it out" does not work at all if the mesh differs in the slightest. I have real trouble getting anywhere near what you're doing without completely redoing the mesh by hand. The proportional editing isn't helpful either, because it messes things up even further. At this point I am considering just going the whole damn thing by hand.
