At last I was able to model something beyond the cube :D

Contests and Challenges

Hi,

First of of all I would like to apologize if I'm abusing the forum or something. I have been posting a bit too much these days and don't know if this is allowed. Please let me know if it doesn't.

I just wanted to share the first model I'm proud of. I know it has some problems. For example the indent at the bottom is quite challenging for me. The other part is some concentric circles in the bigger cone (sorry don't know how to name it properly) that are curved.

If you feel like to, let me know what you think. I'm always opened to open from you guys. By the way, this is for the last part of the core modeling course.

Thanks in advance!.

Looking good. First thing you do when you learn texture and shading is come back to this model to try and get it to look like the picture.

Omar, I thought I was going to be stoned (I think this is the term of throwing stones to someone) for using too much geometry :D.

I hope to start texturing course in 1 month more or less after I finish the modeling exercise. Really interested in it!

By the way wanted to give kudos to everyone involved in the core courses. Very well made.

First, we don't use stones we use deleted default cubes.

Second, it looks great. Can't wait to see it after you add materials.

Third, geometry is good. You can reduce it if you want a lower poly count. So no default cube throwing this time.

dillenbata3 ahhh... cubes... that makes much more sense. I hope they are beveled first :P

I will try to reduce poly count. It is something that I'm very interested in too. If you don't mind I will try it later and post a picture to check how I did.

    Hi hhexdump ,

I think you did really well!

The only thing, and correct me if I'm wrong, is that that 'indent' at the bottom isn't really an indent, but a 'hole' (where the compressed/decompressed air comes out of...).
