Stadium lights? Proper grass for another day.
Need to step my selection game up, that was cool.
Now for the hard drive, I really liked the challenge of making it myself first (left version). Just from eyeballing a render or a picture at the very beginning of the video. My approach was certainly not ideal, but I got there, and more importantly, had to face and solve lots of problems along the way, and learned a few lessons. Quite enjoyable.
Onward to some subdivision now!
hahaha, I like the little grass patch you added for your soccer ball. nice touch.
Alright, wrapping up this course about modeling fundamentals!
Didn't expect to spend so much time on this, but that was the only way to make it fun. I sort of ignored the low-poly part of the brief, or didn't, as I'm not exactly sure yet how to quantify what's low poly and what's not yet.
Anyway, I wasn't super inspired by my surroundings, so I picked an iconic fictional room (to me), but with the twist of redecorating it. Did you recognize where the room layout is from? (hint: not from this century) This allowed me to dig and research for furniture and props. Luckily, many of them came with references. I worked with blueprints, photos, even modeled a chair from scratch based on a high poly 3d model grabbed from a famous high-end furniture brand. And here are my references for anybody curious.
I tried to alternate techniques, figured out a few things along the way. Really enjoyable project overall.
Still got some stuff to figure out about topology, but time for some sculpting for now. π
