custom symmetry line

I'll do my best to explain this Q. But for example, the head on this sculpt it twisted from the shoulders and neck. IE, the model is looking to one side-ish.

Is it possible go back to the model outside of reptoflow, go to edit mode, and select an edge loop that we know is the centre of our model, and use that as the symmetry line for doing mirrored work? EG, an edge loop that runs down the middle of this models head, and then follows along down the middle of the neck.

Or would it be a matter of doing symmetrised work on the head first, and then adjusting the symmetry line as we make our way down the model to the neck?

Hi Harris! The only way I can think of to establish symmetry in a situation like this is to rotate the model itself until it's aligned as closely as possible to the axis you want to symmetrize. You'd have to do what you describe as far as adjusting the model as you go. You'll probably have to hide some parts of the mesh or create separate retopo objects because Retopoflow will complain (and want to fix) anything it sees crossing the line of symmetry.

The axis of symmetry is determined by the retopology object's origin and orientation, so you could use an add-on like https://extensions.blender.org/add-ons/orient-and-origin-to-selected/ to quickly align that to a custom edge loop or face.
