Been pottering with Blender for many years. Wanna start taking it more seriously with cgcookies tutorials. Loving it. I'll be posting the practice orientated stuff here, and the final product type stuff to gallery.
This begins based around Cgcookie's CORE course, which I intend to do the entirety of, and in order. It begins with:
MESH MODELLING
INTRO
Snowman (20/09/24)
Basic exercise obviously but I added some realism/chaos by having his body wobbled slightly. I like his hat
Scifi Crate (20/09/24)
I added some extra details and even used the boolean modifier to make a little intersected bit on the bottom sides. Maybe it's to help tie rope to it or clip onto it. I imagine labels or iconography to fill in the little inset faces around it. I think this crate contains something dangerous tbh.
Soccer Ball (04/11/24)
This was an enjoyable exercise. The ball looks brand new out of factory.
Hard Surface Modelling
Harddrive (27/11/24)
This was a very technical and maybe most challenging one so far, regarding the learning and getting things right. This HDD is massive - I think it is 100 TB.
[christmas holiday shenanigans and new years eve goes by]
Subdivision Surface Modelling
Mugs (22/03/25)
Back into it again. Modelled these bad boys pretty quick. Very surprised about how good Bridge faces works to make the handle. What a great tool. The mug to the right is based on a mug I have at home, that I don't really like the shape of.
