Hihi,
I entered the dangerous territory and had a crack at reducing my file size per the discussion in this thread.
I have managed to reduce it down from 7gb to a little over 1gb.
I have packed it and uploaded to a dropbox. Could please someone do me a huge favour and download it here and check that it's packed properly, nothing is hot pink as a result of missing an image, and the file size is not the killer 7gb as it once was?
I believe I have purged all unused data and have begun to collate unecessary duplicates of scattershot node groups among a few other things. These are things I'll tackle over time before going to rig and animate the bots - just so I have the file as best optimised as possible for better performance (as well as lowering the subdivs in viewport etc etc). I had a play with learning some python with chatgpt's help to identify where certain duplicates of images etc are located which was fun - but ignore that upon opening the file.
Cheers!
Shoot, sorry, the noodlehead decals are disabled in the file. Enable them here in the outliner
It looks great. All Images packed. You can knock off another 200 megs by saving it as compressed. Click file->Save As. Then when the file browser comes up press N or click cog Icon in header. Then check compressed and click save. You can change the name if you want to compare them.
Hahahaha! I realised in my initial renders that I didn't show some of the doofus details off well enough. I'm glad you found that one!
