Turning off/changing subdivision surface modifier level for all objects in a model at once

I'm not at my computer to test this out, it's just a thought I had while watching a tutorial on my laptop.

But is it possible to switch off, or set the subdiv level for all objects in a model in one go? As opposed to selecting them and changing them one after the other.

Would it be: select all, then hold alt while making the necessary change?

I'll test this out tomorrow, but just thought to ask while it's on my mind!

Cheers!

    Yes!
With all the objects selected, hold ALT while disabling the show in viewport option on the modifier.

Or, you can turn on simplify in the render properties tab and under viewport set the Max Subdivisions to 0.
This will essentially turn off all subdivision modifiers in the scene.

Aha! So the simplify setting is essentially an override?

And just vocalising my thoughts, if I had objects with varying levels of subdivisions, I could set them all to be a particular max of eg 2 so everything higher would be set at 2, but keep all those that have less to stay at their set level?

    Cheers Adrian!

You could also select all objects and use CTRL + 0.
Then the SubD is set to 0 but only in viewport mode. If that is still helpful.
