Substance Painter

I was wondering if bonus lessons could be added for texturing in substance painter? Similar to Tread course, which has lessons for both instamat and substance. I really like Chunck Trafagander as an instructor and hope to see more courses with him. Great course overall, I learned a lot

Hi ~Ivy~, thank you for taking the course and leaving some feedback! You're awesome. 😃

As of right now I don't have plans for Substance Painter (SP). The biggest reason being that InstaMAT and SP are very similar in functionality and workflow, with really only some minor deviation in how they operate. My personal goal was to teach core concepts and workflow of game art, over specific software conventions.

I know that software-specific conventions exist, so there will be some minor differences between InstaMAT and SP, and that's where I think YouTube and Google are really going to help anyone interested. There is much more out there on YouTube to supplement teachings for SP that far outshine what I'd be able to cover in only a couple videos, again without really treading any new ground when it comes to concepts or workflow.

I chose to stick with InstaMAT because of its accessible licensing, and similarity to what the industry conventions are right now in terms of texturing workflows. If you are familiar with InstaMAT, you will have no problem working your way through SP, if even requiring one or two YT vids on how to do specific things!

Sorry to disappoint right now, I am definitely open to changing my mind on that if there seems to be enough interest in the topic!

Thank you for taking the time to go through the course and leaving your suggestions! They are greatly appreciated and considered heavily, even for future courses.

I'm looking forward to getting some more courses out that we can explore together!

    Chunck :)
