boolean question

Question

Hi guys,

I am sure I am doing something wrong but I am not able to see it. I am trying to substract this 'star-like' form from that sphere compressed that will be a wall. I am using BOOLEAN modifier but magic is not arising... Could you please tell me what I am doing wrong?

    HI Carles,

Try hiding your cutter: 'forma logia'. (You can also change the Viewport Display to Wire in the Object Properties, but don't forget to disable the Render Icon)

(Also, before you go much further, don't forget to Apply the Scale of your Objects!)

    Hi Martin,

    Thank you for your response.

It is not working. When I hide it, it's shown a little shape on the 'mural esfera' object but not substracted. See cap below.

I do not know what do you mean with 'apply the scale'...????

    Hi Carles,

You might need to move the mural esfera a bit towards the forma logia (or the other way around, the forma logia toward the mural esfera).

If that doesn't help, you need to see if the Normals are all correct (in Edit Mode select all with A and then SHIFT+N. Do that for both Objects) and make sure that the forma logia is 'watertight' (no hole on one side).

The Scale of your Objects should be 1, 1, 1 and that is not what you have:

To Apply the Scale, Select the Object (stay in Object Mode) and press CTRL+A > Apply > Scale.

Also lots of the time it helps changing the solver from Exact to Fast:

Also, check the normals of both objects.
