All Smashed Up

Thought I had one problem solved but then this one comes up.  All the parts are smashed together even though I did tick the Separate Children.  Can anyone suggest what can be done?  Is it a height thing?  I remember from pre-watching he does something with height.  Should I continue like nothing is happening and hope the next bit of the video cures the ill-mannered children?  I will end up doing this I think, but before I was hoping I'd at least be able to match what is happening in the video.  His children are better behaved and going one after another.  Also note:  when I do dial up the Integer form 0 -2, nothing happens.https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/z777yr14nob9w2lnvbzzq/Problem-with-Smashed-All-in-one-Parametric.png?rlkey=da4yom2in1ocl2aza641z5s14&st=pg6xd24n&dl=0

    HI wrongwright ,

At a first glance, I'd say it's because your Mesh Line is only 1m long (high). You can see in your image, that the first floor is not in the exact same position as the ground floor, but a bit higher (probably 1 meter...).

It also has only a count of 1, so that's why increasing the Integer doesn't do much.

I checked on this and still same behavior.  I can however adjust the height and load in 2 more instances.  It's just that each instance is a smashed sandwich of all 3 parts of my model. I can't seem to separate them even with Separate Children is ticked.  https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/d6psho6fjy5wamutuxyi4/Smashed-Parametric-2.png?rlkey=ahxhs12vz1e8t83394g118i2e&st=ne48pnmd&dl=0It's like the GN are seeing only 1 Origin.  I know I have all three.  I've looked several times.

    Solution

    Try enabling Pick Instances.

(Sorry, this has been a while for me...)

No worries, I appreciate the other set of eyes and your brain.  And that was it.  I had somehow missed the bit about ticking that "pick instance".  I originally had problems with a misplaced Origin causing my model to instance underground.  I fixed that then promptly crossed my eyes and sneezed and didn't realize I missed "pick Instances".  This cleared it up for me.  This makes sense as a way to separate the children.  Now I'll finish the lesson hahahaha
