Blender Weekend Challenge πŸ„

Last week I challenged you to model a Brio toy, what a fun model and kudo's to all of you who participated.

This week is classic, well for 3DS Max Users, but we Blender artists can show them up!

I want to challenge you to model this object 100% in Blender.

Share your results, tips, and tricks along the way below. If you have a finished piece add it to the gallery for a chance to be featured!

My attempt, could probaby have spent more time on the shaders.

First attempt at the weekly challenge, spent more time than anticipated, but couldn't pull myself away lol.

I eyeballed proportions and struggled most with the boolean I used on the trigger. I messed with making a normal map for a while in attempts to get the stamped text, but couldn't quite figure it out. Reasonably pleased with the result though, looking forward to next week's!ocomp-compressed.png

the materials are still a problem for me. the dirt/fingerprint effect still looks unreal. the spout was a challenge with the curves but i'm happy with the model.

These are so great. Kudos to all of you for taking on this week's challenge of making an innocuous object look impressive. I'm drumming up this weeks object that will be announced soon on the Freshly Baked Newsletter and here on the forum.Β
