hello guys. I created a pretty simple architectual scene in blender, but it seems that it cann't be rendered. I have checked the file for missing links, bed materials and so on, but everything seems fine and the Orphan Tab is not indicating any Unnecessary data.
I have tried to render in both Eevee and Cycles. It got stuck or crashed on both of them. the synchronisations for the render to start is stuck a very long time on the first object (a very simple one).
any help will be much appreciated.
Something that most of the time works for me is to import or append the scene into another brand new blend file. That way the bug stays behind most of the time. I also start to append things one by one and render each time. So I append a couple of objects, then do a render, if it renders fine then I know none of those objects have a problem. Then I import a couple more objects, render again, if everything is fine then all those objects are ok. If then at one point I import something and the problem starts, then I catch the problematic asset or whatever because it only gave me trouble after that specific thing was on the scene. It's a caveman brute force method, but it has worked many times for me to debug a scene.
Hey bboo-zi
Well I clicked the blend file link, 2.3GB 😮
That's no simple scene. That's your issue right there. You probably don't have the memory, processing power, V-Ram (or all of the above) to handle it.
I suggest you take a look again, delete any unused objects from the scene/outliner.
Clean up unused data blocks, unused linked data blocks and unused local data blocks, and then do it again.
If the file is still large (not simple), I suggest you compress the file to a zip before sharing.
If the file is really that heavy, then it will take a long time to render, depending on your hardware.
What GPU, CPU and MB of memory do you have?
Hi bboo-zi ,
that is a weird and tbh a bit suspicious looking download link...but I downloaded it and it looks you went completely overboard with your Geometry. Look at the Statistics:
thank you both for the quick reply. Omar, that is a very good suggestion. I will try that.
Adrian, thank you. it is not a simple Scene. I Guess you right. but I cleaned all Data Blocks and did everything you Mentioned. everything fine from that point. I also did the render on Couple of Mac Computers. one is very powerful, and it didn't get to the pick of its Resources. I Guess it's something fault in the scene.
I will try Omar Suggestion and will update soon. thank you.
Well, I have seen a far more complex scene that did rendered fine. I already deleted all the furniture's i initially put there. and leaved only few Objects there. I Guess the main complexity is in the trees but in need them. do you have any suggestions on how to reduce the polly counts but leave the scene as it is?
thank you Martin. I think there are no modifiers except Solidify for few objects, but i will check
And the more I look at your file, the more I get the feeling, that you're not really a modeler (and I absolutely don't mean that as an insult or so!):
And it looks like you tried to organize things and then you didn't..this is not very helpful:
I don't want to sound harsh, but it's not very transparent for people that haven't built this Scene...
