The Fundamentals of Lighting course really demystified a lot of things for me, and that's all I did here was play with lighting based on what they showed me.
I have some art experience but I'm also really new to the 3D scene. I do feel like I finally found my "thing" so I put in a lot of hours, but its all cumulative. I haven't even done anything original yet. Just follow the courses, pause and do what they do, soak it up and try not to move on until you actually feel like you understand a thing. They have done an excellent job with these tutorials, and they are great about giving feedback so you actually will have guidance along the way. Plus a stellar community ;)

I learn best by doing. The videos take me a while because I'm constantly pausing and repeating. But I don't feel like I grasp a thing until I've played around with it and made a few messes.
