Hi, I've noticed that on Blender 2.75, the effect of using the inflate brush (to add resolution to the topology) is different thatn in blender 2.68 (the version used in this video). The inflate brush does not add more faces anymore. What other options are there to get a similar effect? Thanks!

The Inflate brush does generate new geometry for me in 2.75...You're using the official build? Also what is your detail collapse setting (subdivide collapse, subdivide edges, collapse)?

Thanks for your reply. I now noticed that it did add new geometry, but I can only notice the difference in edit mode, so everything is fine :) thanks!

    Hi,

I'm using Blender 2.79 and I am having trouble with the inflate brush adding topology. I have dyntopop on, I've tried Collapse edges, subdivide Collapse and Subdivide edges. I'm missing something between the version it was recorded in and 2.79. I just can't find it.

    Thanks

If these criteria are met, inflate should generate new topology as it sculpts:

    • Dyntopo is enabled
    • Mode is set to "subdivide collapse"
    • Strength of the brush is greater than 0.
    • Mesh is selected when in sculpt mode.
mmleonard17 Can you verify that all of those are true and if the issue persists?
