cant connect the vertices together

I tried to connect vertices from the speaker to form a face but it connects elsewhere.

    Solution

    Hi NNischal ,

Make sure you have the correct Vertices Selected.

It can also be, that you have 'Double Vertices'. Try M > Merge > By Distance.

It could also be, that the speakers are a Separate Object; you cannot connect Vertices from two different Objects. If that's the case: in Object Mode, Select the speaker and then SHIFT+Select the console and CTRL+J to Join them.

These are the most likely causes, I think.

yeah I joined the objects and it did connect but I Screenshot (325).pngScreenshot (326).pnghave another problem now sir, when I try to form a face by joining faces it connects weirdly

Again, it's a bit hard to understand what exactly is going on, what do you mean be weirdly? What result are you trying to get? From the screenshots it looks fine, like two connected faces would.

  • Nischal Choudhary(Nischal) replied

No, it connects extra vertices here is what I thinkcorrectit.pngcorrect1.png

If you select 4 vertices and hit F to create the face, those you point out as extra faces are ok, it's how it goes, they will become part of the loop. It's weird to communicate via text and screenshots, can you make a screengrab video, so we can easily see what you mean? From the screenshots doesn't look like anything is wrong.

Oh I finally fixed it, it was being beveled due to the bevel modifier enabled in the speaker meshScreenshot (332).pngScreenshot (333).png

Great, it was all a mirage then. Good thing is, when we struggle with a mystery in Blender and we solve it, it's the kind of thing that we never forget and rarely commit the same mistake twice. Good job figuring it out.
