I am looking for information on building terrain from Google Maps.
Yeah probably Google or YouTube will have a short easy step by step video. It's more of a Google thing than a Blender thing, it's cool they make that data available, though I think, I don't remember very well, that Blender has a built in Addon for this, but again, one quick googling round will yield the results specific to your need.
